January's colour was blue.
February's colour was pink.
March's colour is teal.
I don't know teal. Are any of these teal? |
I'm linking up with Soscrappy for the RSC14 party later today. Hop over there and have a look at other people's pink splendour.

I think teal has a bit more green in it.
Think of sea blue / green
Very pretty blue and pink blocks. I would agree with Jo you need fabrics with a little more green. Those fabrics look more blue.
Your blocks look wonderful! Trying to pick a favorite...yep, wonky stars!
What wonderful blocks you have so far! As for teal, there isn't very much teal in my stash. I think the stack on the right is closer to teal than the stack on the left.
You showed a fabric on February 17 with ducks and bears. That's the color you're going for.
Great blocks. Beautiful fabrics. I'm going to call this month my RSC teal/turquoise/aqua month.
Anything that looks green with blue or blue with green will work. Try putting a blue one side and a green I the orther. If it doesn't match either one it is teal
Great blocks and teal, aqua....they both work!
I liked Angela's description: fabrics that aren't quite blue and aren't quite green. I think this month, I may be making more scraps than using them because I believe I have more aqua/teal FQs and yardage than actual scraps ... of course, after I pull out my blue and green scrap bins and go looking for aquas and teals, I may find more than I think.
Marly, all your blocks are looking beautiful. This is a repeat comment which I left on Kat's blog (scrapbox quilts) - "When I first started with the RSC a couple of years ago I used to over-think the colour thing, I always wondered about indigo and violet. So I'd better not get started on teal and aqua".
Teal is a tricky one because it is a colour that some people see as blue and some see as green. I have towels that I am sure are green but some friends swear are blue. That's teal I guess!
So if your fabrics for the teal look a bit different from your blues, you can say they are teal an no-one can argue.
Like the commenter above, I have no idea what the difference between indigo and violet is, either!
Beautiful blocks and they look great together. My pinks and blues look hideous together. I'm hoping other colours will mellow them!! As for teal and aqua... I don't know, I haven't ventured into the fabric yet to see. I'm wondering about my interpretation because at a class last weekend I asked the tutor for "Kingfisher Blue" paint and she said "oh you mean Turquoise". ;o)
Have fun with teal! It's open for interpretation, that's what makes it good. Just find something that looks like tall to you and go for it. No one is going to throw you or of RSC just because of the shade of Teal you chose. Personally I think that the color everyone is describing is Aqua. I've always thought tail is a darker color!
Your blocks look wonderful Marly :) I think your choice for teal/turquoise/aqua are very pretty and I think they will work wonderful with the blocks you have already made for January and February :)
Your blocks are looking great... and you have lots of tips on finding teal I see!
Way to keep up on the blocks!
