Fishing for blue

This month my blue scraps are going into a fishy table runner. The inspiration is from Nicholas Ball's book, "Inspiring Improv".

A couple more tails needed here, and the rest of the shoal.
I haven't caught many fish yet, but there are plenty more fish in the sea blue and light scraps where that came from.

Meanwhile most of my sewing energy is going into Lori Kennedy's current FMQ QAL.

(dreadful mistake in the bottom line there!)
This is nowhere near good enough yet, but I'm hoping, "Practice makes perfect"!

Interesting fish story. Wonder what will happen with them. I need to practice my free motion quilting more often. Every time I stop for a while, it's like I have to re-learn everything again. Practice, practice, and practice some more. ;^)

Not an easy improv with all the angles. Fishing is a great way to spend a day in nature.

Your fish are just great! They look like a fun type of block to try. I think your FMQ looks great! That's something I never mastered.

Those fish look so fun! I see lots more fish in that sea basket of scraps.

I had hoped to "go fishing", too. I'll be looking forward to seeing your table runner, Marly! Thanks for that link to Lori Kennedy's Quilt-a-Long. I hadn't heard about it. You are doing a great job with your sample!

Are you hooked on your fish? hahaha! They look wonderful. Lori Kennedy is a wonderful quilter and a great reference point for figuring out what to quilt where. I use a lot of her designs when I need an idea for FMQ.
