RSC April is aqua

For the Rainbow Scrap Challenge Angela at soscrappy posts a colour every month and quilters around the world make blocks in that colour.

This month's colour is aqua/teal and I have made six bow tie blocks in aqua/teal:

I'll need to make more, but this way I seem to be up to date.

I just need to make January and February's blocks ! The colours have been cut, and now I've bought more neutral fabrics I'm able to cut more 3.5"square pieces. I don't intend repeating the coloured fabrics, but the neutrals will inevitably be repeated, and probably more than once.

Pretty blocks! When I was making my bowtie quilt I did the same thing with all the varied neutral backgrounds. I love that look in a quilt!

Cute Bow Ties and I like your fabric plan. I can also see that yellow, red, and aqua is a wonderful color combo. I'm keeping that in mind for a future project.

I made a bow tie quilt as an RSC project and it's one that is on my bed right now.

Love your aqua blocks. I also have some of that aqua polka dot fabric you have in the bottom left of your photo. I think it's just fine to repeat your neutral fabrics. They will blend into the background of all that pretty color.

Beautiful bow ties!
I usually try not to repeat neutrals, but it's just impossible - they're just soooo outnumbered by the colors!

Your Bot Ties look SEW good in AQUA!! Best of luck on catching up with the other colors.

The bow ties will be fabulous! They’re so much fun to make. And repeating backgrounds is great; they just add depth and contrast.
