July: one monthly goal

This is beginning to get tedious, but my goal for July is the same as for May!

To finish my version of Bonnie Hunter's 2016-17 Mystery Quilt, "En Provence" which I had to stop quilting during the second week of May because my machine was playing up! Since then it's been back to the dealer twice, and I've been on holiday.

My machine is now back from the dealer who replaced the BSR section of the machine's wiring. The fault has been ascertained: the wiring in the BSR foot itself. We are now trying to convince Bernina that it was faulty within the guarantee period, even though their technician failed to find anything 2 years after purchase. Rewiring the foot is impossible so the choice is: buy a new one (about €600.-) or learn to quilt with the darning foot (like thousands of others.) The dealer gave me some hints about positioning the BSR plug to give the fewest problems, but I still have to try it.

Now I'm all set to go again!

Yikes Marly. The issue with your machine seems daunting. I hope it works out to your satisfaction. I'm rolling over a goal as well. Good luck continuing on with yours.

Oooh that is awful about your machine woes; mine is in the shop (fingers crossed) for the next 2-3 weeks so I am just trying to work on hand pieces a bit--sorry you were in the midst of quilting...at least I didn't have anything on the go...
Hope you're back in business soon...(p.S. it's not tedious for us--it's just life happening, right?) Hugs, Julierose

Well, this is an awesome goal! I love that quilt pattern, and your colors are gorgeous. I hope your machine will cooperate with you.

That is an annoying potential expense! I hope you can persuade Bernina that this must be their fault, rather than something you have caused.

Good luck with getting En Provence done - it is a beautiful quilt.

Your machine problems sound so frustrating, but I hope they don't hold you up too much and that you can get this finished.

Hope all positive out comes for the sewing machine woes. Especially it being under warranty when you first started trying to get it repaired. On the other hand, isn't wonderful to have it back? Here's to getting it done this month!
