This week one bear only flew briefly to my ninth floor balcony and left two paw prints:

Unfortunately one of the blues is so dark it 's hardly discernible next to the black. I hope it's not going to be a problem when mixed among all the other colours. I found the pattern on Instagram at @hoosiertoni, following a link from Jessica at Quilty Habit.
Most of my sewing time this month has been spent on the Bonnie Hunter mystery Allietare! with the Bear's paws as leaders and enders. All my mystery blocks are finished, and I'm working on the setting triangles. When that's finished I'll start quilting the rows of the RSC 15 sampler quilt.

Oh! Marly what a beautiful block. I love this one. It gives the traditional block a tinge of modern. Hope you get more sewing time this weekend. ;^)

I have always loved Bear Paw blocks. Yours give it a fresh twist!
I think the darker blue next to the black will be just fine in the finished quilt. I like the black/white background.
The Bear on your balcony certainly had dirty feet didn't it (giggle). Hope you admonished it suitably!

I'm using my Allietare bits as leader/enders for my other sewing, so doing just the opposite of what you are! 8)
The combination of blues with the black and white is a very nice choice. We do have to be aware of the darks and lights, which can be frustrating. I do like them a lot. Keep up the good work!

I like the colours in your bear paws: I think the darker bits will all look fine by the time its done and they're mixed in with all your other scraps.
