RSC 15 Ohio Lime

I've never been to Ohio, so I've no idea whether or not limes grow there; I suspect it's too cold, so they would only grow under glass.
Anyway,  the first block in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge  this month is the Ohio Star in lime. Each month Angela, at Soscrappy,  gives another colour for the Sawtooth Star sampler and posts the patterns for blocks to go in the centre of each Sawtooth Star. Sometimes, as now, this results in a star within a star.

Ohio Star surrounded by a Sawtooth Star
I wonder how the block would look with the Ohio star set on point. I'm somewhat mathematically challenged, but I think I might be trying that soon. In case you're interested: don't hold your breath!

There is just one more star block to make and a few alternate blocks to complete and this year's challenge will be over. I wonder what Angela has up her sleeve for next year!

I'm linking up to

Happy sewing

Marly.

So many plans in the works for next year! Glad you are almost done with this year's quilt. The lime looks beautiful against your background fabric!

Very pretty Ohio star block. I live in Ohio and I am not aware of limes grown in Ohio. We have lots of grain farmers, Airstream travel trailers, Honda car plants, Smuckers jellies, Cheryl's Cookies, Bath and Body. I am sure there are more but these are the things I can think of.

Such lovely colour play between the Ohio star and the saw tooth background. Did you notice that Angela has posted the final star?

I cannot wait to see all of your blocks sewn together! This one is just as fabulous as the rest :) Putting that inside star on point. . . I bet it would look awesome, being mathematically challenged myself, I likely wouldn't take on that challenge (read headache!!) but I will definitely be looking for yours! I'll be patient :D

Dark blue and lime green is a such a beautiful combo. You did a great job with the Ohio Star. (good luck with the math for the on-point one.) Can't wait to see all your beautiful dark background blocks together. It will be a stunner by the look of this block!
