Rainbow Red in July

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge colour for July is red. I have only made one block this week, although now I see that Angela has posted two more sampler blocks.

I struggled to match the points on this one and then gave up. I get 0/4 for points. (Don't tell me otherwise: I know!)

I thought it was great fun seeing 6 months' worth of Rainbow blocks from a lot of people last Wednesday. If you didn't see them then they are here at Soscrappy.

There are no rainbows here this afternoon, just plenty of rain!

I'm linking this post to Soscrappy

so hop over there to see the fabulous blocks
others have been making this week.

Happy Sewing

Marly.

I think it is a great block, matched points or not.

I love the red fabrics you used. Great block.

I see we had similar ideas - red rectangles and red print all around. It was a tough one to make surprisingly enough. I'm not 100% happy with mine either - I think it looks off. Could be the print but I'm not sure. I may make this one again.

Love your reds in your block. Makes me want to go back and remake mine with a different background.... My points did not line up either. It makes it unique =)

The cheerful red fabrics help disguise the points!

Those mismatched points are what will add character your quilt. Just enjoy the journey!

Looks great to me. I couldn't get mine quite right either but I'm going to use it anyway : )

Love your background choice! No one will ever notice the points once it's quilted. I think it looks great!

I am feeling blue - didn't even have time to drag out the red scraps this week :(
What happened to that very hot day you were having? All I can see is rain.

ooh i like that block. red is one of my favourite colours :) could you not 'stretch' it a little to match the points? you can quilt the wrinkles out... ;)

Fortunately, once all the blocks are together, a few mismatched points won't matter in all the loveliness.

Looks good to me from here! (Anyone who gets that close to a finished quilt to seek out unmatched points has a problem in my book! )
Too much rain and cool temps here too!
