Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2014: week 29

In July THE colour is red.

Hashtag
I only made one red block last weekend, but managed to play catching up with some purple and green blocks.

Cracker and Cactus pot
Calico Puzzle and Broken Dishes

I'm not happy with the Calico Puzzle block on its own; there is too much contrast between the greens. Maybe I'll remake it, but I'm going to wait and see how it fits with all the other green blocks. I also got quite a shock when I checked Angela's sampler index page this week and found the colour for May had been emerald green. That I'd missed somehow. I don't think many of mine qualify as emerald.

To see how other people have been busy with red blocks this week hop over to

Soscrppy

where Angela is hosting a linky party.

Happy Sewing

Great looking samplers blocks. I am behind too. I was hoping to get 9 blocks done for every colour. I need a few more greens and all yellow and Red still. The Calico block is great, I do not think you should change it.

Love the blocks. I used all different greens for my May blocks, from dark green through to yellow greens xxx

All the colors will come out to play eventually, no need to worry about emerald versus other shades. It will be fun to see all the blocks come together when the end of the year gets here.

I think your calico block block looks great! That little broken dish block would make a great baby quilt in that fabric, it looks so soft and calm. Wonder what color August will bring. Still quite a few months to go.

There is no quilt police so any green goes that is in your stash. Great blocks. I love the broken dishes block.

I too used all kinds of greens in May. It will all come together and all the quilts will be unique!
